BOSTN returns to Dome of Doom for his debut full length album ‘NSFW’ following up on his self titled BOSTN EP released on the label in February of 2022. Since then BOSTN has played national touring dates to support artists like Jawns, Super Future & SuperAve, Bleep Bloop, DMVU, Kursa and more as well as playing festival dates at Lightning in a Bottle, Burning Man, Vibey Desert and Pirate Pandas. Now BOSTN is set to unleash his strongest and most unhinged project to date.

“The music is fucked, the title 'Not Safe For Work' really sums it up. I’ve channeled all of my most turbulent thoughts and feelings into these songs, as an outlet. The ethos is that the world is fucked and I’m pissed about it. There is no way I can change the way things are, which inspires a feeling of hopelessness. The music is just a place for me to put these feelings.

This album is a collection of songs I made while I was suffering. There is not necessarily a congruent theme throughout. There are two sides to the record, the first half caters to electronic production and is the next step in my progression as a producer, the second half is a callback to my roots in hardcore/deathcore and listens more like a hardcore band. Despite the stylistic differences across the record the spirit of BOSTN is always present. There is also an injection of scream rap, ultimately you can expect this to become a staple in the majority of my future releases.

There are a lot of electric guitars recorded direct in, with simulated amps. Same goes for bass guitar. I’ve done all of the vocal recording with an Aston Condenser Microphone. All of the recording and production was done in Logic X.

Recording for NSFW took place over the past 2 years, this record was produced entirely in my bedroom. The vocals were recorded in the backseat of my car, and at a recording studio in Burbank.

I've done all of the mixing/mastering. The aesthetic of the music is loud, distorted, broken. I mix everything as loud as I can and do very little in mastering. I never overthink my mixes, the tunes are relentless, honest and imperfect. That’s how I want them to sound.

Overall my biggest influences are Korn (Follow The Leader) and Slipknot (Self-Titled & Iowa) ; those 3 records shaped the way I think about music. In more recent years I’ve taken a lot of inspiration from artists like Deafheaven, God Complex, Grouper, Scarlxrd, Suicide Boys, Ghostemane, Bleep Bloop, Chee, Tsuruda, Eprom, Alix Perez, Ivy Lab, I could go on and on but.. one track in particular that really changed my approach to production is ‘KIN - HOT’ released on Courteous Family.

The sound of the record is loud distorted violence. This project is very diverse, it’s got slow bass and trap infused dance floor weapons, intense horror-core scream rap, straight hardcore/deathcore songs. It’s a lot of raw distaste and hatred for the world put into sonics. I’m not sure it can be properly understood without being heard.

Music Videos are on the way, I will be putting out a limited merch line with the album, shirts, hats, ski masks, maybe a hoodie. Physical Cassette tapes will be available, and with slightly different versions of some songs. Hope you enjoy it.” -BOSTN
